Fairview is proud to offer industry-leading care to women through all stages of life and to be recognized among the best hospitals nationwide in several areas by the Women’s Choice Award.

Fairview Southdale Hospital recently received the 2017 Women’s Choice Award for bariatric surgery, heart care, orthopedics, and patient safety, while Fairview Ridges Hospital received an award for orthopedics and University of Minnesota Medical Center received awards for bariatric surgery, heart care and stroke care.

“We strive to deliver an exceptional experience for each patient, every day,” says Bradley Beard, regional president, Fairview south region. “These awards highlight the commitment of our physicians and staff to providing high-quality, compassionate care.”

The award program recognizes the country’s best health care organizations based on women’s perspectives on patient satisfaction, clinical excellence and hospital preferences. All Women’s Choice Award winners rank above the national average for patient experience.

To receive these recognitions, hospitals must:

  • Meet the high standards of the American College of Surgeons and the American Society for Metabolic and Bariatric Surgery
  • Perform well with regard to clinical measures and recommendation rates in heart care
  • Receive high marks on post-operative recovery instructions from orthopedic patients
  • Rank above the national average for patient safety
